The Behringer Wing gives you 16 stereo effect slots, which means you can go wild with effects if you want—two inserts per channel or bus. But just because you can go crazy doesn’t mean you should. I prefer to keep it simple so the mix stays under control.

In this post, I’ll walk you through how to set up my top three reverb effects. These are my go-to’s for vocals, instruments, and drums—and by the end, you’ll have a clean, spacious mix that just sounds right.

You’ll also find a snapshot download below to make this plug-and-play if you’re in a hurry. But if this is your first time, follow along and learn how to do it manually—you’ll be better off in the long run.

Step 1: Add Reverb Effects to the Slots

Start by pressing the Effects button on your Wing. Then assign three available slots as follows:

  • Slot 1: Plate Reverb (for vocals)
  • Slot 2: Hall Reverb (for instruments)
  • Slot 3: Vintage Reverb (for drums)

Step 2: Plate Reverb Setup (Bus 13)

This bright, lively reverb helps vocals shine without getting muddy.

  1. Select Bus 13 > Tap Home
  2. Go to Configuration > Set mode to Post
  3. Tap Insert > Turn insert On
  4. Choose Effect Slot 1 (Plate Reverb)

Adjust these settings:

  • Pre-delay: 80ms
  • Size: 30
  • Decay: 1.84s
  • Bass Multiply: 0.25

Step 3: Hall Reverb Setup (Bus 14)

This is your warm, wide-spaced reverb that makes instruments sit well without stepping on vocals.

  1. Select Bus 14 > Tap Home
  2. Go to Configuration > Set mode to Post
  3. Tap Insert > Turn insert On
  4. Choose Effect Slot 2 (Hall Reverb)

Adjust these settings:

  • Size: 70
  • Decay: 2.8s
  • Bass Multiply: 0.5
  • Damping: 5 kHz
  • Low Cut: 120 Hz
  • High Cut: 5 kHz

Step 4: Vintage Reverb Setup (Bus 15)

Perfect for drums—adds life without overpowering the kit.

  1. Select Bus 15 > Tap Home
  2. Go to Configuration > Set mode to Post
  3. Tap Insert > Turn insert On
  4. Choose Effect Slot 4 (Drum Reverb)

Adjust these settings:

  • Decay: 2.0s
  • Low Cut: 121 Hz

Step 5: How Much Reverb Is Too Much?

Here’s a simple rule of thumb:

Turn it up until you can hear it, then pull it back until it blends.

If you notice it, it’s probably too much. If you mute it and miss it—that’s the sweet spot.

Step 6: Assign Effects Buses to a DCA

This gives you quick control when someone starts talking instead of singing—or during the message.

  1. Hold Select on an available DCA
  2. Select Buses 13, 14, and 15 to assign them to the DCA

Now you’ve got one fader to pull back reverb when needed.

Bonus Tip

You’ve still got 13 more effect slots to play with. You can insert them on buses like we did—or directly on channels. Don’t be afraid to experiment and discover what fits your mix.
